The fine print, kept plain
Terms of Service
Last updated June 24, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Chorzle for using the Chorzle app and this website. We've kept them in plain language on purpose. By creating a family or using Chorzle, you're agreeing to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Chorzle.
What Chorzle is and who provides it
Chorzle is a family chore and rewards tracker that runs in your web browser, provided by Carroll Consulting Services LLC ("Chorzle," "we," "us"). It helps a family set up chores and rewards, lets kids complete chores and earn in-app points called Chorzles, and lets a parent approve work and manage rewards. These terms cover both the Chorzle web app at app.chorzle.com and the chorzle.com website.
Who can use Chorzle
You must be an adult, at least the age of majority where you live, to create a family and agree to these terms. A parent or guardian is the account holder and is responsible for the family, including how any children and other invited members use Chorzle. You can invite other grown-ups (a co-parent, a grandparent, a caregiver) and add children, each at an access level you choose. You sign in with a secure link we email you, so please keep access to your email and your account safe.
Children and families
Chorzle is built for families and is set up and run by a parent or guardian. Children use Chorzle inside a family their parent created. By adding a child or giving a child a sign-in, you confirm that you're their parent or legal guardian and that you consent, on their behalf, to their use of Chorzle and to our handling of their information as described in the Privacy Policy. You can review, export, or delete your child's information at any time from your account or by emailing us. How we handle children's data is covered in the Privacy Policy.
Chorzles are points, not money
Chorzles are an in-app system your family uses to recognize finished chores and to redeem the rewards you set up. They aren't money, aren't a stored-value or prepaid product, and can't be redeemed for cash or for anything outside your family. They hold no monetary value, can't be bought, sold, or transferred between people, and we don't hold, transmit, or owe any funds in connection with them. Your family decides what each chore is worth and what each reward costs.
Rewards are between you and your family
You decide which rewards to offer, what they cost in Chorzles, and whether to grant them. Rewards, and any allowance or money your family chooses to tie to chores, are an arrangement within your family. Chorzle helps you keep track, but we don't provide, fund, fulfill, or guarantee any reward, and we aren't responsible for whether a reward is given.
Your family's content
The chores, names, profiles, photos (including any chore-proof photos), and other details you add are yours. You give us permission to store, process, and show that content only to run Chorzle for your family and keep it in sync across your devices. You're responsible for what you add and for having the right to add it, including any photo of a person, and you agree not to add anything unlawful or anything you don't have the right to share. How your content is stored and protected is covered in the Privacy Policy.
Acceptable use
Please use Chorzle for your own family's chores and rewards. Don't use it unlawfully, don't try to disrupt, probe, or gain improper access to it or to other families' information, don't resell or misrepresent it, and don't use it to harm or harass anyone. We may suspend or end access that does these things.
Chorzle is in beta
Chorzle is currently offered as a public beta. It's live and usable, but it's still being built and improved, may change, and may have the occasional rough edge. We may add, change, or remove features while it's in beta.
Free trial and Chorzle Plus
Chorzle plans to offer Chorzle Plus, a paid subscription, with a 14-day free trial first. During the beta, Chorzle is free and billing isn't switched on. When Chorzle Plus goes live: it's billed monthly or yearly through secure web checkout handled by a third-party payment processor under its own terms; a subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel; and you manage or cancel from your account. Canceling stops future renewals, and you keep Chorzle Plus through the end of the period you've already paid for.
Prices are shown in US dollars and may not include tax, which is added at checkout. We may change Chorzle Plus pricing in the future, and any change applies only to future billing periods, never one you're already in.
Apps and app stores
Chorzle runs in a web browser and installs to your home screen, with nothing to download from an app store. If we later offer Chorzle through an app store, for example as an iPhone or Android app, that store's terms also apply to your use of that app, and any purchase you make through a store is handled by that store under its own rules.
Our brand and the service
The Chorzle name, the bee mascot, the app, this website, and their content belong to us. These terms don't give you any right to them beyond using Chorzle as intended.
Availability and disclaimers
Chorzle is provided as is and as available. We work to keep it running well, but we can't promise it will always be available, secure, or error-free, and it relies on internet access and on the service providers that help us run it, which are outside our direct control.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim warranties beyond those the law requires, and our total liability for any claim relating to Chorzle is limited to the greater of what you paid us for Chorzle in the twelve months before the claim or twenty US dollars. We aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses. Some places don't allow certain limits, so parts of this may not apply to you.
Suspending or ending use
You can stop using Chorzle at any time and delete your family's data from your account settings or by emailing us. We may suspend or end access to protect Chorzle, to protect other families, to address misuse, or to meet a legal requirement. If we ever discontinue a paid plan, we'll handle active subscriptions fairly.
Changes to Chorzle and to these terms
We may change, pause, or stop offering parts of Chorzle, and we may update these terms as Chorzle grows. When we make a meaningful change to these terms, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If you keep using Chorzle after a change takes effect, you're accepting the updated terms.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of [Chorzle's home US state, to be confirmed], without regard to conflict-of-law rules. We'll try in good faith to resolve any concern directly first, so please reach out to us before anything formal.
